Local Adventure

Being only a 25 minute drive up the Ogwen Valley from the start the assent to the summit of Snowdon, Anglesey Lakeside Lodges will certainly appeal to the outdoor enthusiasts and families with a sense of adventure. Other local attraction include, Zip World, Bounce Below, Ribride, Surf Snowdonia, Plas Y Brenin and the famous mountain bike park at LLandegla. The many beautiful beaches of Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula are close by too and the Menai Straites is on your doorstep.

Newborough forest has excellent family bike trails and a beautiful walk out to Llanddwyn Island (Ynys Llanddwyn). Llanddwyn Island is a magical place. Located at the far end of a pleasant beach near Newborough Warren, this narrow finger of land is an ideal picnic site during fine weather, but also an exhilarating place when the winter winds blow. Its rolling dunes, large rock outcrops and mixture of historic buildings makes it an ideal place for an afternoon of exploration.

Llanddwyn is not quite an island. It remains attached to the mainland at all but the highest tides. It provides excellent views of Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula and is part of the Newborough Warren National Nature Reserve. Be sure to check the tides times before going onto the “island”.

Anglesey has an incredible 27 excellent sandy beaches and rocky coves including six Blue Flag Beaches and a Blue Flag Marina (Holyhead Marina). It does not matter what the weather does, a beach will occupy the mind – crabbing, sand castles and running around will ensure a good sleep is had by all ages!

Our lakes are stocked with grass carp, these were introduced in 2013 to help keep the weed levels down but we have seen some good-sized carp caught over the last few years. We are not a “fishing destination” but you are welcome to fish the lake if you have a rod license.
